"I would suggest that if you are a fan of music on the outer reaches such as Gazelle Twin, early Cabaret Voltaire, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, The Human League’s ‘Dignity Of Labour’ 12” EP and sounds that might be made by collapsing galaxies, then Cosmic Caz is well worth investigating."
Cosmic Caz is the project of London based self-taught solo musician and producer Caroline Ortoli. Having already had experience learning piano from a young age, they have then taught themselves to produce and use samplers and synths whilst living in Brighton and partaking in other music projects. Since then, they have cultivated and perfected their unique brand of what is chaotic, ethereal cosmic beats. Cosmic Caz brings a unique sound to new wave experimental electronic music, warping between various genres from psychedelia to art-punk to dream-pop.
Creating a unique, intricate sound that takes you on a journey through time and space. Performances feature dreamlike beats on acid combined with the ambient noise of nature immersed with chaotic ethereal soundscapes. Rattling drums, sweeping warbling synths and squelching field recordings provide a cosmic sensory overload.
Cosmic Caz represents an alien from outer space, coming to Earth and exploring utopian and dystopian themes, the nature of reality and important subject matters through music.
Cosmic Caz has performed gigs extensively within London, Brighton and even a DIY festival in Aylesbury. Their debut song 'Natures Glitch' has been featured on BBC radio6. They have supported acts such as Babar Luck, PussyLiquor, Battery Operated Orchestra and Sit Down.
Cosmic Caz will be releasing new music March 2019 and their debut EP will be coming out later this Spring with a launch event party in London to celebrate.
